The psychosocial and school counselling service (SePAS: Service psycho-social et d’accompagnement scolaires) aims to support pupils of all levels with their day-to-day or school-related problems.
Every secondary school that follows the official MENJE curricula has its own SePAS. SePAS replaces the former SPOS service (Services de psychologie et d’orientation scolaires).

- Employees from psycho-social and socio-educational fields
Offers and support
- School system (structures and curricula of the various types of schools, admission requirements for the various branches of education, options for changing schools, subjects and classes, information on various professions);
- school orientation (school and vocational skills, development of vocational projects);
- Psycho-social and socio-educational counselling for young people, parents/guardians and school staff;
- Psychological, psycho-pedagogical and social support for pupils;
- School support (counselling, prevention, crisis management, learning difficulties);
- Grants (subsidy for low-income households and school maintenance);
- Prevention (prevention of addiction, violence and AIDS, prevention of dropping out of school, etc.);
- Mediation between the school’s partners (pupils, parents, teachers, official bodies, etc.).
Team
The SePAS consists of a multidisciplinary team:
- Graduate psychologists,
- Psychotherapists,
- Social workers,
- Educators,
- Teachers who act as school and careers counsellors,
- Social pedagogues.
The number of employees and the distribution of the individual professional groups can vary from school to school. The respective school management is responsible for their administrative management.

The SePAS teams work closely with external actors. Together, they aim to make it easier for students to access the labour market.
The individual SePAS report to the central CePAS and are supported by it (Centre de psychologie et d’orientation scolaires, central office for school psychological counselling and school orientation).
