At national level
Consists of parent representatives from primary schools, secondary schools, public schools, international and European schools, competence centres. The national representation of parents was introduced by the law of 1 August 2018 and the first representation was elected in February 2020.
On 25 February 2023, the twelve members of the second national representation of parents were elected, in the presence of the Minister of National Education, Childhood and Youth, Claude Meisch, and representatives of the Luxembourg National Pupils’ Conference (CNEL).
The parents elected at local, sectoral and national level have access to a secure electronic platform that allows them to exchange and communicate with each other. There is also a ‘poll’ function that allows national representatives to gather the opinions of local representatives and better inform their views.
The national representatives elected in 2023 are
- for basic education (4): Alain Massen; Mike Wampach; Christian Pierret; Carla Carvalho
- for the secondary level (6): Jorge De Sousa; Stella Falkenberg; Clothilde Voisin; Sandra Zins; Sylvie Strasser and Christiane Schaus were elected and replaced by Ronald Deckenbrunnen and Daniel Lieser in September 2024
- for the centres of excellence for specialised psycho-pedagogy (2): Paula Da Cruz; Eduardo Neves Do Rosario
The 12 elected representatives have elected Mr Alain Massen as President of the second national representation of parents.

- What experience is there regarding autism? The national parents’ representation is responsible for all children, whether they are autistic or not. They maintain good contact with the CTSA and also with Mr. Laurent Dura, Director of the “Service national de l’éducation inclusive” (SNEI), who is responsible for the area of inclusion.
- What specific assistance can the representatives provide? The national parent representation can assist parents with their inquiries and, if desired, establish contact with the appropriate points of contact to find the right solution together.
- How long does it take to receive support/feedback? The national parents’ representation holds a meeting once a month to discuss all these topics. In general, they try to resolve issues as quickly as possible. It always depends on the specific request.
